Sleep Issues, almost 1yr old

I was hoping to get some feedback from othr moms interms of sleeping habits. My son is 11 1/2months old and for the past week we have had terrible meltdowns at bedtime. He has been having this also at nap time but bed time has never been an issue. He is nursed before bed and would normally be put in his crib and sleep through the night. Now he awakes suddenly as I put him in the crib and cries. The first 2 nights I slept wih him on the couch...I just sat him in a cornerned area and he played until he put hmself to sleep. We tried the crying it out as well. He has gotten to the point of crying until he vomits, my husband has also tried to comfort him but nothing works. He eventually wins. I have let him cry it out for almost two hours, I have tried sitting in the room as well. I do not know what else to do. I related this to separation anxiety because he started crying when I put him in crib during the day when I went in the shower (a routine that Ive been doing since he got mobile- never a problem before) Sorry this is so long! On a side note- he fine otherwise, no fever, not obvious illness...I know he is teething but i have tried tylenol and motrin which normally does the trick.

My son turns 1 on sept. 10. We are having the same issues with our little one. He refuses to go to bed. It's like a 2 hour ordeal to get him to bed. We doing just about everything until he finally passes out. Then he's up 1-3 times in the night.... It's exhausting, but I'm guessing this is just a phase, because he used to be a great sleeper and go to bed so easy.
