My son is 28 months old, not speaking. I am worried about him. My husband didnt talk till 3 yrs old. I teach my son, read, talk, sing. We take our son everywhere with us. He seems to understand most of things just has not spoke yet. I understand parents take them to speech therapy, but that is not a guarantee he will still speak. Should I not be worried so much, and my son will talk when he wants? I am running out of ideas, I want to help out as much as I can, let me know.

My son is 2 yrs and 8 months. All he speaks is only words. He can not speak in sentences. Till 2 yrs he just said mamma. I had consulted speech therapists and even neurologists about this. The very first question they asked was , does he reply you when you call his name or ask him something to do? Another question was does he make some sounds (say mamma or papa, daddy).
You should not be worried. But I agree with Sarah, you should take your child to doctor. Sometimes they give you simple exercises which help kids boost developments.
