My son has been in speech therapy for about 8 months now. Our therapist does home visits once a month, where she brings toys and books to play with him. The whole thing is disguised as play, he really does not even notice that he's learning. At the end of it all she will discuss with me the techniques used so I can use them too. I think it has helped immensely, and I would encourage you to go through with it if its available to you.

Hello, we just had our almost 2 1/2 yr old son to the speech therapist for an eval. We did this only because he does not have a big vocabulary yet. She suggested us using some basic sign language with him which he is doing really well with that. I hear that it really helps. Is that what you are taking him in for? We will start going 1 time a week for 30 min sessions :)
