2 days ago I noticed my 14month olds top side of his gums was like a swollen ball. It didnt seem to bother him at all so I kept an eye on it. Yesterday it was still swollen only now it looked bruised or something, like blood was under the gums and I couldnt see a tooth coming through, again, it didnt seem to bother him. I was putting orajel on it and gave him motrine last night just incase. I was going to call the doctor first thing this morning, but now it looks fine. A little swollen, but I see white where a tooth is coming now. Any one have this happen? Not sure if I should call the doctor.

normal. if this is his first molar that's cutting it's normal... molars are larger teeth and take a long time to cut the gum. it's good that your baby isn't fussing - molars tend to hurt more than the other teeth because they're bigger. i wouldn't use orajel but stick to homeopathic remedies (Boiron Camilia drops) if he's a bit fussy or baby motrin if he's in pain.

your not suppose to use orajel because they say it is unsafe that when they swallow the gel it goies down and numbs their throat and they cannot feel if they are joking because it numbs their gag reflex..teething tablets are the best. my poot baby is always the happiest the past week and a half her lil back teeth are the size of my fingertip swollen and she's been super fussy and don't sleep in her crib just with me..I feel so horrible for her when she Cry's and says owe while holding her lil cheeks but all we can do is help try to keep them calm. I give her infant motrin which helps a lot no very much and she lives chewing on ice and the baby tooth brushes she can sit for an hour and chomp on a tooth brush. hope your babies teeth come in soon.. I know how u feel.

I was told not to use the orajel for my youngest but I can't remember why now shoot, but I remember my doctor having me get the teething tablets at the store. It's over the counter and it's little tiny pills that just melt in there mouth, that seemed to help. I also liked the fact it was completely safe and no major medications were going into my baby. I noticed Kathy mentioned something like that. Anyhow hun it is hard when their little I remember everything my kids do I ask my mom "is that normal are they suppose to do that?" LOL
