Quoting Michelle:

LOL my son does the same stuff... I think it's just that independence kicking in. My other thought is this-- my son's temper stuff REALLY got bad once he started talking more and more, and I think it's because they're realizing that they get to have opinions and wants and needs and, for the most part, we listen to them. So the temper and throwing and hitting and (in Caedyn's case recently) fighting sleep are all them just trying to see how far they can take this communicating thing.

funny that you mentioned the sleep thing too because my daughter is doing the same ive never had trouble with her before she has slept right through from 2 weeks old but now at night she cries and cries and wont go to sleep i thought it could be her teething though ,who knows i wish we could read minds sometimes lol....

My daughter is 15 months and also loves to throw she thinks it is hilarious! We tried telling her not to throw and taking away anything that did get thrown but that didn't work. What does work is when we ignore her when she throws, she will throw a couple of things and when she doesn't get a reaction out of us she stops and goes onto another activity. When she is not paying attention then I go and pickup whatever got tossed.

Good luck. My son is 3.5 and still throws toys and we tell him it's naughty and we don't throw toys and if he keeps throwing them we take the toys away

its the troublesome 2's taking early affect, they start from about that age, when things are thrown take them away from her and explain why she shouldn't throw them as its naughty but as calm as you can in a loud voice, I know it gets very frustrating when young un's are having tantrums especially when usually they are totally fine, but all i can suggest is picking the toy up she has thrown showing her it and saying in a firm voice something along the lines as 'no, thats very naughty, do not throw your toys' then remove them from the room for a bit, she will have a tantrum but eventually i am sure she will learn if shes naughty she doesn't get what she threw. hope this helps as this is just from personal experience with my eldest son. goodluck collette
