Hi, I am hoping I am not the only mother going through this. I have an 18 month old little girl, who is quite good at sleeping right through, however over the last couple of nights, she has been standing in her cot and calls for daddy for ages. We try hold out but not going to get her but eventually we have to go through and get her. I am not sure whether we are supposed to reassure her in her cot and then try put her back to sleep, which most often won't work cause she screams the place down, so we take her out and calm her down. We have had to bring her to our bed, which I know is NOT a good thing but if we don't then we get not sleep. Also my little one only ever seems to want daddy at that time and not me, which makes it very hard for me to help! Any advice would be greatly appreciated and welcomed. Thank you Wendy

We have had a similar problem with our 13 month old. He'll sleep through just fine and then suddenly, he will be up once or twice a night for a few days and then go back to sleeping well. We did the same thing that Skyler suggested. If one of us goes in his room and lies down next to his crib, he settles himself down and goes back to sleep just fine. Usually we fall asleep too and then whenever we wake up, we just head back to bed. It has worked well for us so far and it less disruptive to our sleep than trying to hold or rock him back to sleep. The floor isn't always the most comfy place to fall asleep but it's better than nothing. Why don't we ever hear that sleep troubles aren't over once your baby starts to sleep through the night??? Good luck!!

My daughter did that and we ended up having daddy go lay down in her room then when she was good a sleep he would come to bed. She would wake up in her own bed by her self and see she was ok. Did that for couple of night and after that she stop yelling for daddy. Don't know she realize that she was fine in her room or that daddy was still home and wasn't going anywhere or maybe both. Good luck and hope this helps

Hi Katherine. Thanks for your response.
We did try the suggestion, however as soon as my hubby lay down on the floor, my little one just started crying and screaming so he had to pick her up and bring her through. If she does the same thing tonight, then I will take her to our lounge and see if she settles down there. Thanks again. Wendy

Hi Skyler, Thanks for your feedback. I will most certainly give that try. I am hoping she sleeps through tonight, if not I will try your suggestion. You have been very helpful. Thanks again.
