Looking for any moms with experience with this strange little problem...
My four-year-old son has been displaying symptoms of a UTI for the past couple of days--extremely frequent urination and urge to urinate, getting up at night multiple times, mild lower abdominal and testicular pain.
I took him in to our clinic today and his urinalysis was completely clear...and his blood sugar was also normal. The medical staff do not know what's causing his symptoms.
Has anyone experienced this with their son? TIA!

Just in case anyone with a similar issue finds this in the archives later... :)

Several more days and tests later, they've come to the conclusion that my son most likely has stress-induced pollakiuria. Which means he just urinates far more frequently than usual as a response to stress. (We are moving internationally next week, so it's a wonder the whole household isn't stress-peeing!)
He needs to retrain his bladder, so I'm doing a quasi-potty training type of thing....setting a timer to have him go every 15 minutes at first, then gradually increasing the interval between potty breaks back to a normal hour/hour and a half. It should clear up within a few weeks, and as things settle down after the move.
