I have a 3.5 year old daughter who weighs 25lbs. She wont eat and if she does its a bite or two. She used to eat tons now it just stopped a couple weeks ago. Shes easily tired and remains very cranky. How do I encourage her to eat?

I would say she isn't growing right now if it has only been the last few weeks that she won't eat. Perhaps she is coming down with something. I would just have plenty of finger foods available and she will eat when she is ready

Sometimes I wonder how my almost-4 year old manages to survive on what little he eats, but my Pedi joked that it's funny how they manage to survive on air around this age. As the other posters said, just have a variety of foods available all through the day, and she will eat when she is hungry. Also, remember to take a look at what she eats overall in a week rather than day to day and you'll probably be surprised at how much it is.

Have you talked to her doctor about this? As long as she is grazing that's ok. But like Michelle said, she may have been going through a growth spurt and is now finished. Keep track of what she eats in 3 days. That's what I gauge my daughters eating habits on.

She'll be 3 in March and only weighs 26lbs. She isn't on the charts for weight.
