Hi to all mums. Me and my 21 mo dd did extended breastfeeding she co sleeps with me and I wanted to wean her off the night feeds. Its been a week she has not been nursed at all. But my problem is she gets up several times at night about 5 or 6 times, sometimes every hour. Every time she wakes up she wants to sleep on my shoulder and she has to be rocked to put back to sleep. which I have been doing otherwise she becomes really cranky and I have been doing it assuming it will get better but it has not. Its been 7 sleep less and tiring nights for me. I cant let her CIO because she will surely cry a lot her daddy is in a stressful job he surely needs his sleep to go to work in the morning. My life is becoming miserable without sleep. I can not function well during day. I want to hear from other mums that how long it took them to break the night nursing habit. DD is completely fine without nursing during day, even at night she doesn't ask for feed but when she wakes up she refuses to lie down and wants my shoulder. Moving her out of the bed is not an option yet. I just want to know will it ever get better ? We are doing four B's but she still sleeps on my shoulder. sorry for making it long but ladies I really need support in this.

I'm not sure there is a lot you can do other than wait it out. When I night weaned I often had to replace the nursing with letting the baby or toddler sleep on me. They really wanted to replace the nursing with snuggling. In our case though, it wasn't too disruptive... except during teething or colds or days when they were overtired. I'm sorry I'm not more help. Can you nap during the day?
