What do I teach my 15 month old?

I feel like it's time to start teaching my 15 months old some basics skills like shapes, colors, etc... but is not sure how/where to start? What types of learning activities do you teach your 15 months old at home?

There are some great picture books out there for little ones that have pictures of different things like boy, girl, cat, dog, house, socks, etc. We have a few of those books, and my baby will point to a picture and say, "Dat?" and we tell him what it is. Repeat this (over and over and over and over) every day and you get an idea of what we're dealing with here. But it's all learning. Point out what things are, and you can even add adjectives (compare a BIG ball to a little ball, for example, or a red sock to a blue sock).

My son is 13 months and since forever just to help his vocabulary when I play with him I tell him what the toy is, it's color, it's texture (hard, soft, etc), and things like that. We look at books together, and when he points to pictures I do the same thing. When we play with blocks I count them. We color too, and I try to teach colors that way. My main focus is vocabulary for now though. So I point to everything and say what it is, and if he points I say what it is, and encourage him to try to say it.

yes, shapes and colours and numbers and letters and animals... basically any toys or books he has tell him what colour or whatever it is. i use my daughters bath toys to do this too... like pink dolphin or green turtle. and body parts, like nose ears eyes mouth etc. it may seem like they arent catching on but one day theyll surprise you. just keep doing it everyday and theyll learn :)

my daughter is almost 2 now and i can have a full convo with her for just always talking to her
flash cards and books are always good
and if you have an iphone you can download apps
that have flash card and sounds and stuff like that
and that was easy when we were out and about coz if she started to play up i would just pull out my phone and show stuff to her but i dont think there is really a right way to start teaching i think u just need to go for it
