What strategies do you use when your child gets crazy in front of company

My grandma would call it showing out. Basically, I want to give him some direction of independent play while I am having an adult conversation with someone else. Because the "mommy and company look at me hang from the chandelier and listen to me talk a million miles per hour," bit is aggravating especially if it is important.

I usually get down on his level and calmly ask him if needs something - go potty, have water or a snack or some toy he might not be able to reach. If the answer is no, then I'd give him a kiss and tell him that mommy is busy talking to guests and give him another option to keep occupied (book,

toy or such). Works most of the time.

lol know wat your talkin about! Its really straining or me when this happens, but I do what I do when Im alone with him. I try to stay consistent wiht him at all the times. I try really hard to not actany different when we are out or have company. I just dontwant mine to think he can get away with more things when others are around. The best thing I can do, if you know when someone is coming over get them distracted with something before they show up an have things around to keep them interested in. If they start misbehaving stay firm with them and consistent and re focus their attention to something you know will help quite them down.

Hope the best for ya,I know its really annoying when this happens, but remember they wont do that stuff forever!
