When do you put a child done with out a bottle?

My daughter is 2 yrs old and still gets a 1 cup bottle of milk before bed. She doesn't get milk the rest of the day. Her nap time she usually falls asleep in the car because we're always out, so does not require anything. I seriously don't see an end to the nighttime bottle. How do you put them down and shut the door and say "Good night" without anything? Please tips/advice. ..thanks Mom's!

Perhaps starting a new nighttime/evening routine??

Give a bottle right after dinner (or whenever you prefer it). Let her play a bit (depending on her bedtime). Give her a bath, then read to her with the lights dimmed. This is just an example. It will take time for her to get used to but if you stick to the routine and are consistent, it will work.

Another idea is to gradually take away the cup of milk by giving it to her 15 minutes earlier each time, therefore 15 minutes more of reading/play time before bedtime.

Or a combination of the 2 ideas...good luck!!
