Hello I need some advice. I have a 4 year old and an 18 month old. I'm currently pregnant with my third child on the way. I'm just wondering if anyone has any advice on when I should put my 18 month old into a toddler bed. Any advice helps. Thanks !!

I don't see anything wrong with putting your 18 in a toddler bed. If you do it right now before you have the baby, he/she doesn't have to think they are giving the crib to the baby. Be positive about the transition and try to make it feel as though they are such a big kid like their older sibling that they get to sleep in a big kid bed. Celebrate it. Make it about him/her and not about the baby.

Hi, with my 3 year old I gradually over about 4/5 months weaned him into his own bed as i was still BF. I put him straight into single bed and missed out the toddler bed. And routine was a big part of helping me, I'd give him his dinner, bath, drink then bed. For a while I'd read to him or play soft music and wait till he fell asleep. It got easier, he's 3 soon and he tells me he's going to bed. Obviously he's a toddler still and some nights he wants to play and not get into bed. But us mums have to be consistent. Hope this helps. PP is right. You may try bed transition at 2nd b'day by gifting a big bed for big boy. My elder one stayed in crib abt 30 months. He slept in his babydeedee sleep sack which kept him from crib climbing.
