my son is 13 months since he was 9 months he has been hitting his head on things. metal poles funiture shopping carts tables the street concrete you name it he has hit his head on it.i know kids do this when they are mad but he does it out of the blue for no reason at all. when he does it he hits his head so hard he gets a instant bruise/bump even a few times to where he has caused himself to bleed. when he does this it seems as if it feels good to him it really dosent hurt. i have had people threaten to call cps on me and with the town i live in its hard to get in to see a dr i have to wait months. can anyone help me figure out whats going on before i loose my baby cause of this

YOu shouldn't have to wait months to get into a DR. Call and make a wellness checkup for his 15 month appt and ask about it, or DEMAND to get in sooner. This behavior is normal at this age, but should not (IMO) be going on this long. Just to be safe.

It isNormal, my 2 boys did the same. But because he is cousing himself injures, you must inform his pediatritian so it is in his files and if needed make a helmet for him. My pediatritian told me to just do not make a fuss about it. Everytime that he start doing it put him in a safe place like his crib or a playpan. Let him hit his head and totaly ignore him and when he realize that you do not care, he will stop. My pediatricin told me to do this and it worked. But was hard for me to ignore and I neede to jus walk away... Make an appoitment.

You need to get him seen by a specialist. Ask your ped. to recommend one to you.
