Maybe you should see and ENT. My daughter always has a runny nose and she had to get tubes in her ears. It is worth getting it checked out.

Here is exactly what my doctor told me... My son has had several ear infections which included dark circles under the eyes, which caused some temporary allergies...

One of the most common causes of these unwanted features in children is nasal congestion. This leads to the blockage of the veins around the eyes which turns bluish or purple in color. This causes dark circles that do not go away easily.

The sudden onset of nasal congestion in children is due to allergic reactions. However, in some cases, the nasal congestion could be due to flu, cold or chronic sinus infection. These nasal congestions are also sometimes referred to as allergic shiners as it is mainly caused by allergy.

BTW - He is set up for an ENT, he more than likely will be getting tubes in his ears..... He has had the sinus (ear) issues for 18 weeks now....

It certainly sounds like allergies to me. How old is your son? They won't say a child has allergies until he's over one year old; at least that's what my son's pediatrician told me.

Yep - we had the same issue. The doctor said it was from allergies....
