My 16 month daughter won't swallow her food. She stores it in her mouth for so long that finally i have to scoope it out. It is so hard to feed her, it is with everything and not just food she dislikes. Any suggestions or did anyone else face this?

I have a similar problem with my 2 1/2 year old son. but he only does it when he decides he's not hungry or doesnt like the food as a protest. My doctor told me a child will never starve if they are offered the food and are able to eat it. so i would only offer food at their normal meal times and dont give in. if she doesnt eat it then dont offer anything else til the next meal time. if she's hungry, she should eat it... On the other hand, consider maybe there might be a health issue perhaps with her throat or digestive system? if the problem continues i would speak to your doctor or health nurse for a checkup on the issue. Good luck :)
