My son is 16 months old & has had 5 weeks of straight diarrhea. When it first started out we went to a doctor & he was diagnosed with pink eye (I couldn't believe that) & he was put on an antibiotic. After 5 days and his symptoms getting worse I switched doctors. They diagnosed him with a severe ear infection (puss was coming out of his ears, & he has tubs) & a virus. They stopped the previous antibiotic, gave him a roseffin shot & started a new antibiotic 24 hours later for 5 days. We're now on 5 1/2 weeks of diarrhea & it won't stop. We're on lactaid milk & cuturelle probiotics for kids. I'm desperate & at frustration point. I don't believe it's teething because he's not showing any signs of that like he has with his previous 8 teeth. He plays & acts fine. You wouldn't know this was going on unless you're the one changing his diapers. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Clean the house, spray with antiseptic, watch his food (cook and hadle properly), sterilised all his bottles, bowls, spoons, toys and wash hands often. Hopefully that'll help.

We go back to the doctor today. They did blood, stool, and another test they all came back negative waiting on parasite results. I wouldn't think it's all the antibiotics by now but possibly could be. Thanks for y'alls help. I really do appreciate it.

I don't have any really good advice but my cousin's son had diarrhea for 3-4 weeks and he was diagnosed with iron-deficiency anemia. Now he is on an iron supplement and it has improved. Did they do blood work? Her son was also quite irrtable, longstanding. Everyone just thought he was a challenging kid but I guess that can be a symptom.
