I have a 2 yr old and a 3 yr old. Unfortunately the 3 yr old has no interest in the potty. The 2 yr old wants to go and learn so I try. But I can't get the 3 yr old to do it and he needs to go to school...What do I do?

My children are reversed I have a 3 yr. old who is potty trained and an almost 2 yr. old who wants to be trained and wear underwear like her sister, but isn't quite ready. I know that when we trained my older daughter she wasdevelopmentally ready but still gave us a hard time about it. What we ended up doing was going to the store and letting her pick out whatever potty she wanted(even though we already had one for her), and then stickers to decorate it. We then told her everyday for about a week (we trianed her right after Xmas) that once Xmas came NO MORE DIAPERS and that was it. Day after Xmas we let her watch us throw out the diapers (although we still use them for naps and bed) and that was it. It took 3 days of us watching for her signs and telling her go to the potty, after that she would tell us. Within a week she was fully potty trained. I didn't go out for that first week, easier to train that way b/c for the first day or 2 you can expect a lot of accidents. I have a girlfriend who was having a similar problem with her daughrer who would go back and forth between using the potty and not. She tried this and it worked for her as well, for some reason when they see you throw out the diapers they realize that this is it, mommy isn't playing around anymore.
