I know this may not help, but tough love. Let him go without the bottle but only by bout half hour then slowly extend that time he might eventually understand it , or sub for a sippy cup when he is thirsty he will take what is put in front of him. Took a while for my lo to get off his bottle to I used this technique and support from anyone helps to . As for the night thing if he is not hurting or has the scared cry leave him be look in on him let him see you and so he knows you are there but dont go in and soothe him or he is gonna want that everytime. I know it is hard not to go but sometimes a little tough love really helps in the long run.

My son is over 2 and a 1/2 and he still wakes up at night. Sometimes I don't think he even knows he's awake (or he's not really awake)...he cries and just needs to be tucked in or have his music turned on again--which he knows how to do. We also have a 6 month old, so we've been getting up with both kids!

My is 2 1/2 and still needs his sippy cup (which really isn't any diff than being on a bottle) to go to sleep. Like yours, he also wakes up during the night for refills. This all makes potty training impossible because he urinates all night. Hmmmf. I don't know what to do either! At least when I'm up for the 3rd time tonight trudging to the fridge, I can think of you and know I'm not alone. :) Good luck!

P.S.: Let me know if you get any good tips!

I gave my boys bottles up until they were 2 cause they still wanted to suck and it helped sooth them to sleep. How I got them off of the bottle was a warm bath after dinner. In the bath water I would put lavender sented baby wash to help sooth him. After the bath I would make warm milk with just a dash of cinnamon, a dash of nutmeg and a sprinkle of brown sugar for 2 cups of milk. I named the drink love milk and its for big boys who drink in a sippy cup and I explained to my sons now they are big boys and big boys get special treats drinking out of a sippy cup. After explaining to them they were big boys and now they get special treats it encouraged them not to want the bottle. I also had them throw the bottles away after our big boy conversation:-) I hope this helps.

The only thing I can tell you is make sure that right before bed you are giving him milk and a snack.
