I have a two year old that was munching to his hearts content on anything processed: fruit snacks, cereal bars, etc.  If it was wrapped in shiny plastic, he was all about it.

So, I stopped buying it.  For about two days there was a rebellion against eating, and now, he will eat when he is hungry.

It is a little scary when it seems like you little one is surviving on little more than a cheese stick and air, but when he is hungry, you will know it.

I tried some tomato soup with him and it was a no-go until I boiled some salad macaroni and put it in there.  I made it with milk and now all he wants is "Amato Poop."  (translated: Tomato Soup).   It may be worth a try...and no, he doesn't eat fresh tomatoes  (wink).

They eat when they are hungry and it is best if you have the good stuff to offer them instead of the junk. My kids love anything that comes from a bag or box, so we had to eliminate those snacks (or at least get them out of their view). I started offering fruits and cheese. I offer snack style dinners too, with lots of variety. Sometimes they eat everything on their plates, and sometimes they eat nothing. They aren't going to starve. If you are really worried, you can always give PediaSure to enhance his meal plan. Good luck.

I've always heard that a child will eat when they want to eat. Don't force it, it will only make it worse. I think all children go through a picky stage (at least I hope it's just a stage). My three year old use to eat ANYTHING you gave her when she was younger but now she is very picky. The only form of meat that she will eat is chicken nuggets. She could live off of veggies and fruit. Good luck :o)

My daughter is doing basically the same thing. Hot dogs and popsicles are the only thing she'll want. I started making her a plate and making small piles of a lot of variety. I'll put some cut up hot dog on the plate but also the chicken we may be eating for dinner and some cheese in another small pile and I let her know that if she eats her plate she can have a pop. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't.

My daughter is going through a simalr phase. She use to eat great! very heallthy and all of a sudden she only wants pizza and cereal! I have found that she likes dipping her food, chicken, bread or whatever in something. (I just havent found a healthy "something" for her to dip them in! Good luck
