Anxious 2 1/2 year old when his little sister arrived...

My two and a half year old has become very anxious after the arrival of our second child. He is great one on one but as soon as we are all together he becomes obsessed with certain things that catch his attention. He has never hit his sister but I do think the novelty has worn off and he is trying to compete for our attention.....His sister is 14 weeks old now and needs me more for feeding....any tips for anxious older siblings???

Poor little guy. Its got to be hard on older siblings. I have a couple of ideas. Make him feel involved and needed. If you need something for the baby ask him for his "help". Even if it is just grabbing something out of the diaper bag.

Also make sure he gets his special time too. Maybe his father could take him to do guy stuff, just the two of them. Or when you go to the store, just take him if it is for a short amount of time. Just make him feel special in his own way. He will adjust.
