Thanks gals!! All great ideas! I am in a remote area and not much going on in the community. I try to save $$ by not unnecessarily driving places or doing anything that costs money so I am trying to do stuff at home. I do a craft class at the park with him and try story time at the library but there is a lot of time left in the week! Thanks for your help!!

Hey, I have a 3 yr old and we have a set of drawers full of arts and crafts materials. We sit and paint/colour/make things endless amounts of things you can do, online tips of what to make! Cooking sessions is a good one too, make cakes, cookies, bread, anything really! Good luck! :)

My 2 1/2 year old loves play dough; I know play dough seems evil to some moms, but I have tile in my kitchen (easy to sweep up leftovers) and he doesn't eat it, and it's cheap. So I like it. We also go do things together that the community offers. We have moms and tots swimming, mommy matters, story time, and toddler groups all of which are free. You can cook together, play hide and seek, read books, get down on the floor and just play. I totally understand; I complained so much to my husband about the kids and myself watching too much TV and how I just wanted to get rid of it that he went and cut the cable cord. Later he regretted his rashness and I had to come up with ways to entertain my kids with out using the TV (or at least not so often). A big help for me is to get out of the house at least once a day with the kids. They get so bored at home and it bothers me how they turn into Zombie children when they watch cartoons. Today we went sledding and it was so fun. Playing with the kids in the house is the hardest for me. I am not good at make believe anything and thats what they love. Lucky for them their dad is way better than I am.lol If I could I would just clean all day, but when I actually force myself to sit on the floor and play I feel happy, they are happy and I feel like I fulfilled my role as mom for the day. The days I don't I deffently feel like a bad mom. Oh my son like to pretend hes the grown up and he puts me to sleep on the floor in his room with a pillow and blanket and then he say "wake up mommy". I do like that make believe game because I get stories and songs and I can rest my eyes for a few moments.lol It's hard but as long as you're always working toward something better and trying each day you'll be ok.

i will sometimes feed my kids dinner at home {i work during the day you could do it for lunch.} something really healthy and filling then take them to burger king or mcdonalds where they have indoor playgrounds then we get drinks and a cookie and the kids play.

im not sure where your from but in oklahoma we have a paper called metro family and it has alot of cool free things in it to do and some cool things that don't cost that much.

you could try something like that i think they even have a web site.
