Any Advice on taking a bottle away?

My two year old son is still on a bottle. He only wants it when he is tired and wants to go to sleep. How do i get him off. My daughter was very easy to get off but he is not he has a bad temper. He went without a bottle all day once because he broke the nipple so i attempted to try and start that day to get him off he threw the biggest fit ever kicking and screaming throwing things pushing table around hitting yelling. biggest tantrum ever finally after an hour he fell asleep but this was in the evening so then after he woke up he had another fit asking for a bottle i didnt have one but needless to say he ended up back with one later that night. this was a few months ago and i have yet to attempt to take it away again.

anyone have any suggestions, tips, advice or want to share there story. anyone in the same boat as i am?

Just make sure you have a sippy cup for him to drink out of and stop giving him the bottle. Keep telling him that he's a big boy and that big boys drink out of big boy cups. If he gets thirst he will drink out of the sippy. You could even try using a regular cup with just a very little bit in it and see if he likes that.
