Any ideas for lunch food for a picky 19 mo old???

My son is 19 mos and is sooo picky right now. He only eats a cheese and turkey sandwich if I give him "dip" (ranch dressing), but he does eat it, so I give it to him all the time. Does anyone have ideas for other foods picky eaters may take? He doesn't like hotdogs, bologna, or spaghetti either, all of which I thought he'd like. I'm a stay at home mom so the foods can be cooked/hot to give him also. Help!!!

Have you tried fruit, yogurt, crackers, pizza, finger-sized veggies? Let him watch you eat these things with gusto, let him eat off your plate/from your fork, and encourage him to just taste things - if that's all he's willing to do this time, maybe he'll take a real bite next time. You have to offer foods up to 10 times for some kids.

Hi Susan, my name's Tammy and I just saw your post about your picky 19 month old. I have 3 kids and my advice to you is simple...if he's hungry, he'll eat. The more choices you offer him the worse it will get. I suggest give him 2 options for each meal, and then if he doesn't eat, he goes hungry. Sounds cruel, but unless you're running a restaurant out of your kitchen, keep it simple! Hope it helps...feel free to chat anytime xxx
