Any one had to have their kids seen by a GI specialist?

My 3 year old has had digestive problems off and on ever since I stoped breast feeding her when she was 10 1/2 months. And finally the doctors are wanting her to be looked at by a GI specialist. I'm just wondering what to expect. And if there's anyone else who's been throught this.

When my daughter was about 4-5 months old she was spitting up so badly that she was losing weight. Among other things (it ended up being a food sensitivity so they changed my diet, since I was nursing her) we saw a GI specialist. No amount of doc visits or testing is fun with little kids - you want to be able to explain to them what's happening so they aren't afraid, but they just don't understand! Before your appointment be sure to write down all questions or concerns so you don't forget anything and if the doc sees you have a list, maybe they will actually sit down and take their time with you! You might be in for a lot of testing, depending on what's already known or what the doc decides - but hang in there, take lots of toys, drinks and snacks (we use a portable DVD player when we know the wait will be long), and hopefully this will all be behind you soon!

My son was in Boston MHG childrens hosptial for about almost 3 months. he had to see a GI team. becuase he was puking blood up. but all they do is talk about your options and check over your child. my son end up having to go under and got a camera into his mouth and into his tummy. but after they found out his problems and he has been healthy sence then.
