Any other toddlers eating fluff?

My daughter is just over 20 months old and started doing something really strange a few months ago. I just wonder if other kids also eat fluff from blankets, jackets, etc. If I take it away from her she just screams. Is this normal and what can I do to stop this behaviour?

Yes, my toddler cant eat enough. She will find it whereever she can. I gave up trying to take it away. She would just get more as soon as i turned around. She stoped herself after about a month!

Thanks, now I really don't feel stink anymore haha! The nurse at the doctor's said I should just ignore such behaviour because she gets attention and reaction when doing it.

My daughter will pick up anything off the floor and eat it! She is 18 months and will actively seek out bits off the floor. I have a rather elderly dog with long fur and all leaves and twigs stick to her if she is in the garden, so she brings in alsorts on her fur. My daughter picks things off the dog and walks around looking for bits of twigs. Until recently she was eatting them. I made it a game to put these bits in the bin instead. Now she picks up these tiny bits of leaves and says yucky and puts them in the bin as pleased as punch with her self. Try doing the same make it a game of pulling off the fluff and putting it in a bright coloured bin.

My 3 year old son does the same darn thing!! He doesnt cry anymore when i tell him to spit it out! I don't know what it is with that stuff lol. I think it might be the texture??? But with the help in trying to get her to stop idk how lol i finally just took the stuff and let him cry! I do agree with Louisa though my daughter ate dog food and loved to get into the litter box and play with all the poo and pee eeeeewww! Good Luck

my daughter use to eat cat biscuits lol, im not sure if she liked the taste or the texture?? but i think she related with the cats and enjoyed doing what they do maybe your little munchkin enjoys the way her blanket makes her feel and wants to explore the item more? it is normal for children to explore and all childern are diffrent and express this in diffrent ways, i wouldnt do anything it will wear off once she finds more exciting this to explore.
