Yep...Bring $20 to a used children's book sale. Sit down with your child and read.

My daughter *just turned* 5 and she's probably reading at an upper 1st grade level. We're using Hooked on Phonics and obviously it's working very well for her!

I have the My Baby Can Read series. My baby can't read! :)
She is 2 1/2 and she learned to speak a lot of new words and she learned a lot of songs. For that aspect of it I would recommend it, but as far as reading it is not working for us.

Here is a link to a podcast I recently listened to all about how programs like this can actually delay our children from reading and developing. Good luck in your decision!

The Tag Junior from Leap Frog is supposed to be really good for helping to teach young ones to read.
