My daughter was afraid of the potty and m&m and letting her pick a potty was the trick. i wondered -and cryed-she would never use the potty!

hi wendy. pauline again. think you've got the right idea by not pushing it. when our oldest( Dylan) had just turned 2, I started pottytraining him. he loved it, but I, however, was 2 months pregnant with our 3rd little guy, and were low on patience with the pottytraining. I got angry at Dylan one day when he made a pee pee on the floor, and gave him a smack on the bottom. from then on he didn't want to go at all. so we went back to diapers completely until 3 months after Evan was born. By then he was 2years and 10 months. Then we started again, and its going wonderfully. It has been 2 weeks, and he's basically trained, save for a diaper at night. so my advice would be to just completely lay off the potty for a while, and then start fresh. I also read that boys are only emotionally mature enough for potty training at 2 and a half. good luck!!

hi. my oldest boy is turning three in october. I started pottytraining him about 2 weeks ago. just like Alisha, I took him every 20 minutes, for the first week. now I just tell him to go whenever I remember. He even has his midday sleep without a nappy now. lots and lots and lots of love and praise!!!!!!! make him feel really good about herself whenever she gets it right. not a lot of emphasis on the "oopsies". oh yes, we did the pee pee dance (holding hands and dancing around in a circle, singing: You did it, you did it, oh yeah yeah yeah, at the top of our voices) whenever he went, and he absolutely loved it. good luck. As for the paci... we cut a bit off every week until there was almost nothing left to suck. we just told him it broke:) again: good luck!

Well, with the paci i would slowly start losing them. They just "went" away and dont buy anymore. Only give them to her at night and if she is super fussy. Its a comfort thing right now and it will take her some time to get over having it. You will be fine.

Now for the potty training, I took my son every 20 minutes. Seriously, I set a timer. When we did that for about a month and he was only going like half the time, and the other half was accidents... (this may sound mean, sorry) I took his favorite toy away from him. With him it was his cars. I took ALL of them, and when he went pee pee he got ONE and when he went poopoo he got TWO. It seemed to work. Just an idea, I wish you luck. I hate potty training, its really hard!!!
