At what age did you let your baby watch TV?

my son is 15 months old, and doesn't really seem too into TV. He will look at the screen if a car is on it (he's obsessed) or if he likes the music. I will put on Mickey's Playhouse in the morning, but he mostly just plays with his toys and glances up every once in a while. I think TV can be a good thing, but only if you put on age appropriate shows and limit the amount watched. Don't use TV as a babysitter, and don't let your kids eat in front of it!

I read the recommendation of the American Academy of Pediatrics, which says not 'til at least age 3, so that's what we went with. (Except for the Grinch at Christmas and Fraggles when she was really sick, both around 2 1/2) Your child's teachers will thank you later if you wait!

I found with my first born that she wasn't interested in the tv until she was almost 2 years old! I only put on educational shows like Sesame Street and Playschool. If your child seems interested, maybe just put it on a little bit, it's nice to be able to get things done while they're occupied, but just limit their tv time to however much you think is appropriate.
