i didn't do it until he was one ... but he still drinks whole milk and he is 4 due to his weight. but i think you can mix it at either 10 or 11 months.

I don't remember exactly what age I did this at. But I do know for sure that you have to ween them. Start by putting like a third or so and then increase it as you go. If you get WIC they will usually let you know when a good time is. I usually started a bit before what they said so that way I would have the milk when I needed it and not be stuck with a bunch of formula I could not use. It really all depends on your baby but I am pretty sure it shouldn't be before they are sitting up. Trust your mother instincts, they are usually right.

We tried homogonized cow's milk at 14 months at the doctor's suggestion. Our son had the worst diaper rash we had ever experienced. We stopped the milk the rash stopped so we switched to goat's milk (my son was breast fed till he was just under a year) and at 18 months we tried the cow's milk again and he had no issue.
We would have kept the goat's milk up but it versus cow's milk, cow's milk is significantly cheaper.

Btw, I started using sippy cups at meal times when my son was 9 months. It took a while for him to get used to it, and then it was easy to cut out the bottle - he never was given a bottle to feed himself, only a sippy cup. I think the mistake people make is giving an infant a bottle to feed themselves with. If they can do that, why not give them a sippy cup? They will get attached to the sippy cup instead of the bottle and I think most people would say that a sippy is preferable to a bottle. My 2 year old gets a sippy cup of water in his bed at night and that keeps him from crying for us in the middle of the night.

NO do not mix it with formula UNTIL 12 months. No cows milk til 12 months. We used toddler formula from 10-13 months and then did organic whole cows milk with DHA for the rest of the year then regular whole cows milk after age 2. Cows milk has no iron at all so you have to be very careful that your baby is getting the daily allowance of iron from other foods once you start cutting out the formula.

I gave Kenhan cows milk from 16 months, i just poured it in his bottle and gave it to him and he has been on it ever since then. He is 18 months now, I am trying to get him off the bottle now, so I only give to him at night time.

All the books say at 12 months, they can digest it better then. I started at 12 months and my daughter had no problems. I at first only mixed half milk and half formula so it's not so hard on her.

As per my Pediatrician's advice I started giving Cow's Milk for my daughter when she was 8 months old.

my daughter (my second kid) couldn't be breast fed cause I returned to school a week after she was born. well I did breast feed her the first few days then switched to formula cause the pump I had bought really sucked and I could not afford to buy another one. but unfortunatly for my little girl no matter what formula we tried it either cause her very painful gas or just made her uncomfortable. So against the advice of everyone me and my mom decided to try whole/homo milk. no more gas. no more being uncomfortable and suddenly she was content and sleeping through the night. she was only about 2.5 months old. and she has always been an amazingly heathly and happy kid.

my dr. for my oldest kid had told me that when she was born dr's were saying not to breast feed because it was bad for the baby but to use cow's milk instead.

all medical advice given for what to do with babies for everything is always changing so I think when it comes down to it a mother should do what she feels is right for her baby. If you are ready to put your baby on milk then by all means go ahead.

Around here they say not before one, due to possible allergies. My daughter is allergic, so she didn't get to try cows milk, my next daughter will be tested at 12 months, and NO dairy will be given before that..

We started our son, after our pediatrician's recommendation, on whole cow's milk immediately after his 1st birthday. He loves it and is flourishing...

At 8 months I started giving my son milk and cut out formula all together. Our doctor gave us the okay to do this and I also felt it was okay. Just remember a mother knows her baby best, and if you feel it is okay then it probably is.

I think it depends on whether they are breast or bottle fed. My was breastfed, and still nursed quite a lot after 1 year, so I waited til about 1.5 years old. Even then he didn't drink very much, and not every day. He DID eat a lot of cheese and yogurt though, and drink water, starting at 1 year old, so his doctor said he would get plenty of calcium and fluids that way.

Im going to be a mum for the 5th time and everything changes with every child. Ive just recently found out that you can now give it to them from 6 months. Its so confusing with how everything changes so often. But do seek other advice from a professional if you are unsure

you can start mixing it half and half with formula at around ten months.. then ween them up to reg. milk by one year. This is information I was told with my first son thru the WIC program we have here.. If you don't have it, it stands for WOMEN, Infants, Children and is a nutritional program.. it can be very helpful with these type questions.. although ultimately it is your decision, of course.
