My son is 15months and loves to talk but can only say so many words and there not really clear. Should i be worried about him being behind? Is there certain things or games i can play to help him?? He points at everything he wants instead of talking.

My daughter is almost 2 and she use to have the same problem. She would point to something and say what she thought it was, so I'd repeat back what it is say, a tree, and she'd repeat it back. We did flashcards with her of animals and shapes, and she's doing quite well with it. She talks a lot more now and is very clear with most of her words.

He still is very young so I wouldn't worry too much, if he points at thing say the word of what at is he's pointing at like if it's his juice cup, say "juice - do you want your juice?" if he nods or indicates he does then say"can you say juice?" if he doesn't then don't panic but just try and encorage him. Talk to him as much as possable and explain what you are doing as you do it and try to get him to repeate words, some times he will and other times he won't just don't get stressed. Singing and action songs are great ways to encourage speech as well as being fun, good luck!
