I am thinking of going back to work after an 18 month hiatus so my husband can go to school for a year. He is miserable in his current job and not making much money. He is planning to obtain a degree in Information Technology and when he does and gets a job will be making very good money.. My concern is though, how hard will this transition be on my kids.. how hard will it be for me?

It will be hard at first but once you get settled in the routine things will get better. I was out of work for 7 months after I had my daughter, it was hard to leave both of my kids after having been home with them for that long but I have to remember that by working I am helping to provide them with a better life. My husband is going to school to become an electician so when he gets his certification I may be able to stay home with my kids once again.

I'm just back to work after twelve weeks off with my newborn, and work sucks, BUT if it is just for a year to get an IT cert for your hubby I say it's worth it. Very good field to get into. My oldest son just graduated from college with a degree in IT and his starting salary in almost equal to mine! (yes I have a newborn and a 23 year old with one in between) Go with what feels right in your heat and good luck.
