Bed Time

My three year old has decided she does not want to sleep in her bedroom at all. I can't get her to stay in there. We will be up late fighting about it. She has a night light, her stuffed animals and it wasn't an issue until about a week ago. I have to admit we would sometime fall asleep together in my bed in the past and my husband and I have never been real strict if she wanders in our room in the middle of the night. I don't know what to do to stop this! We have created a monster!

I do not believe you have created a monster. I do believe your daughter may not understand why things are now changing. If you have not been real strict in the past with this then she may just be confused. If she comes in your bed in the middle of the night then redirect her back to her bed. It will be hard because your tired and just want to sleep. Been their done that but, you must stay strong. Also create a bedtime routine and follow it every night. If she gets up just put her back to bed and remind her its bed time and we all have to sleep in our own beds. It may take a week or two and alot of patience but it will all be worth it in the end. Kids also go through many phases with their sleep patterens so we have to adjust to them as well. This could just be a phase she is going through. We give my son a night light and a light on in the hall because we found he was getting up because he was afraid of the dark. Its not ideal but we all sleep through the night this way.
