Okay,

I know this is my fault but my 2 yr old has been sleeping in our bed since she was born and now its time for her to sleep in her own bed. But of course she is resisting in any way she can! what should i do?

I'm in the very same situation too. It's so hard but I guess the only way is the hard way. Good luck! I need it too.

My son is 2 1/2 years old and I sit with him at bed time usually until he falls asleep or is so far gone that he doesn't care anymore. I tell him the same thing that it is his big boy bed and that is where he sleeps. Some nights are easier than others but, for the most part it works. I have tried the walking him back to bed thing and sometimes it works for us but, me sitting with him seems to be the least disruptive to the rest of the house.

First of all, you're going to need a lot of patience. Start putting her to bed in her own bed. When she gets out of her bed to get into yours, put her back in her bed. She may cry, but I think it will be the best thing for both you and your daughter. Just keep putting back into her bed when she crawls out, and she will eventually learn that her bed is where she sleeps now. Maybe you could tell her that since she is a big girl now, that she can sleep in her own big-girl bed.
