My 2 1/2 yr old son HATES to brush his teeth! He has the yummy-flavored kids toothpaste and a cool toothbrush. I have tried brushing my teeth at the same time so he'll see me doing it but he absolutely refuses. The closest he'll come is chewing on the toothbrush and eating the paste off of it. Any suggestions?

Thank you all for your input, I will definitely be trying these new ideas. Hopefully I'll have as good of luck as you all did! Thanks!

My son thinks it's a game- me trying to brush his teeth. For some reason, he lets me brush them upside down. I sit on the floor, he puts his head in my lap (head in my lap, legs straight out) and looks up at me. It works for us.

Try a poster on the bathroom wall. Every time he brushes his teeth, he gets a star, when the board is full, he can trade it in for something he really wants.

It sounds wierd but my 2 1/2 saw my husbands electric toothbrush and got really interested in it. I had troubles with her brushing too, so I thought what the heck, and we got her one and she actually brushes her teeth now. (well, she tries to!)
