Can a 4 year old be too

Recently, my 4 year old went to kindergarten round-up. These teachers only had her for 2 hours for 2 days. I had a "conference" with them to find out why they say she should go to transitional instead regular kindergarten. They basically told me that she was too "immature" for her to go. She is in Headstart and when I talked with her teachers there, they said that there is no reason for her not to go. She is very smart, and them having her for only 4 hours, have no right to judge my child because she wasn't used to their schedule, or what was to be expected of her for them. Am I being too "protective" or am I right to have stood up and let them know that she should go to summer school so she can go to regular kindergarten in the fall?

not sure if this is the right age group or not, she is still considered a toddler but not yet the next age group.

I totally agree with you, I think that she should go to kindergarten also, however, the teachers at round up stated that they want her in transitional but wouldn't take into consideration that they only had her for 4 hours total.
They in turn told me that if the summer school teachers think she should go to transitional, that she would have to go and I had no other choice in the matter.
What are the requirements to be able to home-school?

Head Start teachers are trained to see problem areas in children. If they feel that she is fine to go to regular K then I would trust them. They've spent more time with her like you said.
