I was about 4 months before I first felt the baby kick, and even then the doc said it was too early...

Either you're a bit further on than you thought, or you're mistaking the little flutter for a kick... even at 2 months they can move around which can give a little feeling like butterflys in your tummy, but it isn't a proper kick.

Sherri - Yes they can detect a heart beat at 2 months. 2 months is a little over 8 weeks. They can detect a heart beat around 5.5-6 weeks.

No you really can't feel a baby kick at 2 months. Your uterus is just so tiny. At 8 weeks your baby is only 0.63 inches and only weights 0.04 ounces.

I didn't feel my son kick till I was around 22-23 weeks or so.

Generally, women do not feel the baby kick until after 16 weeks. Prior to that you may feel a fluttering sensation.
