this may sound funny, but when I have to run to target or walmart, my son is in the big part of the shopping cart. We take a run to the toy department, and he plays with different toys in the cart. I see how he likes one, then we put it back and look for another one. It gives me a sense of what he likes to play with?! lol

My son loved the Busy Ball Popper toy. I found it at Wal-Mart. He ended up putting other toys in there, but we found out that a sock that's put in the right way is hillarious to watch!

I found some really cute toys on amazon.com. A dress up jake doll. They can learn to unzip, button, untie and tie. If it is for a girl they have girl versions of the doll also. Peelable and cutable vegatables. They also have a bead maze for around 50 bucks

Try for toys that fit her developmental age. And of course, you can never go wrong with the Little People playsets which often teaches your child a few different lessons.

At this point, you could buy her her first crayons and colouring book (if you haven't done so). Crayola makes those HUGE colouring books and easy to hold crayons.

Ride on toys are a big thing if your house is big enough (or if you live somewhere warm).

At this point, she probably REALLY likes cause and effect type games. Building blocks into a tower and then knocking them down.

Keep in mind what she likes and you'll be fine!

With my daughter, it was a hit and miss....she liked toys that played music, were brightly colored, soft. I don't know what they are called, but there is this set of very soft blocks (9 in the set I believe) that she loved to play with and are pretty good teethers. I think you just kind of have to wing it a bit, try a few different toys and see what they like. :)
