My nephew had his teeth removed after too much juice/bad teeth made his teeth rot. My sister now gives her son and his younger sister flavored water. her doctor said it had the flavoring in it, but not all the sugar etc, as long as you buy the right kind. walmart sells it for about 50 cents a one liter bottle, and it comes in a variety of different flavors.

Please speak with your pediatrician. Ours recommended that we not give juice because it is sugar and empty calories. The real nutrients come from the formula and the fruit itself. Good luck :-)

most dr's and health professionals recommend not giving juice until at least 6 months. then no more than 2 oz per day and mixed 2 oz of juice with 2 oz of water. unless your child is acting like he/she wants something to drink the best bet is probably water or formula or breastmilk though. talk to your dr though and find out what they recommend every dr is different. best of luck!!

I would delay the juice for as long as possible...but if u really want to start them on juice then start from 6mths onwards (diluted)...the best thing to do is chop up some fresh fruits or make ur own fresh juices at least theres no added sugar or preserves...

i agree with samantha. if your child eats fruit, there's no need for juice. it's got added junk in it that isn't necessary. my daughter gets juice occasionally, but not often...mostly just water. or try those V8 fusion juices (diluted alot at that age)...they have veggies mixed in.

Id stick to water for aslong as u can! If not u may have trouble giving him water ever once he has the taste of juice....

I would just dilute it with water..half and half! If not you may have some very runny poopy diapers which I found out with my little one when she was younger.

I started mine around 6 months, if he's already being spoon fed he should be fine. I think no more than 4 oz in a day though.
