Creative activities & crafts

Looking for some ideas for creative activities & crafts to do with my 2 year old (and possibly my 6 & 8 year old niece and nephew). I'm not a very creatiove person, myself, but would really ;like to start having some creativity time each day or at least once or twice a week. Don't have a lot of money to spend & not having much luck so far. I welcome any ideas you may have. Thanks, Avie

I love to do crafts with our 2 year old son. Some of our favorite things to do are....finger paints. You will need vanilla pudding, food coloring and some paper. I place newspaper on the kitchen table and use a paper plate to mix up the colors and then our son go at it. We also like to make puppets of our brown paper lunch bags. You can use construction paper to cut of different shapes for the face and glue them to the bag. Another fun one is homemade play dough. You can find an easy recipe by googling homemade play dough. You could also paint flower pots and go pick out a cool plant or flower to plant in it once it's dry. Food animals are fun too. You use gumdrops and pretzels and create fun lil bugs and animals. You can make tie die butterflies using coffee filters and dipping them in Kool-Aid, or you can let them color them with markers and then dip them into a cup of water to let the color bleed. Our son also loves to cook and bake so we spend time cooking and baking together as well. I hope that I've given you some good ideas. Enjoy! :)
