hi i have had the same problem with my son who will be 3 in july, it started a while ago he wouldnt talk and just ignored people so we took hi 4 his hearin tested it came back fine so i spoke to his health visitor and they refered him 2 a spech therapist group, we went to see her and she told us that is kieran could get what he wanted without talkin he wouldnt need to talk she told us to give kieran choices and encourage him to ask for what he wants, milk or juice. ect. we have also just put kieran in nursery which is really good coz kids his age need to be told clearly what they want off each other so that has helped him to talk. since doing all thins kierans speech is much better although it will take a while.

i hope all goes well and hope this helped

thank you guys, she already is in a programme for speech delay, she will only speak when she wants too, is funny, and yeah she has older siblings and you'd think she will copy them, but nah no such luck still mumbles lol.. i talk to her like i talk to the others and is the only girl as i have 3 boys  also, and shes the only girl, i thought maybe she needs ....... i dunno, she is in daycare with kids her age thinking that may help and yeah they picked it up guys, thanks for your input... anymore suggestions would be aprreciated.... thank you

I agree with Tracy....speak to someone..I am surprised they hasvent picked up on this earlier.

Your daughter might not want to talk, might not feel like she has 2 lol...i am in the same situation just now but my daughter is only 2 and she has older sibblings to talk for her...if she doesnt start soon then she is getting referred to speach therapy, I know she can do it lol good luck xx

maybe soeak to your doctor or see about early intervention programs they will evaluate your child to see if she has a speach delay and check her hearing.also if you have other children that are older they may be talking for her where she doesn't feel like she has to .good luck
