Daughter won't go to bed since we took away the nuk...any advice?

When my daughter turned 3 at the beginning of June, we told her the Nukkie Fairy comes to take all the nukkies away and give them to kids that don't have any, and she leaves a present. My daughter bought this, was telling people about it and did get a fun present from the NF, which she loved! However....when it comes to bed times and nap times now, my champion go-to-bed girl has turned into someone else!! She cries and gets out of bed, and makes up every excuse under the sun to not go to bed! We've tried taking more of a soothing approach, knowing this is hard for her, but now it's just getting old! I've taken more of a tough love route now, and eventually, she stays in her room and goes to sleep and sleeps well and wakes up just fine. It's the initial go to bed part we're struggling with. Most I've read says they are over it in a few days but this is like 3 weeks now! Would love thoughts, ideas, advice...

I went through the same thing with my son. It took a while before he was able to fall alseep without his pacifier. he was at the same age. I started saying we were going to just go upstairs and relax in stead of calling it bedtime. We would read one story and then I gave him a few books to read to himself. I said you dont have to go to sleep you just have to stay in your bed and relax. He was ok with this because I wasnt calling it bedtime. When I said bedtime he thought of his pacifier. He eventually laid down and would fall alseep with in 1/2 hr.
