OK, my son is a terror!! He is hyperactive, which I blame on the age 2 1/2), and just a boy all the way. He loves climbing on anything, everything and everyone. He can get into doors that are locked with the childproof doorknob thingy. He just doesn't listen! I am at my wits end! Seriously I see why some people start drinking,,,horrible to say I know. I have tried talking to him, Screaming at him, I have tried time out, I have tried, swat on the bottom( I know, I know, lets leave opinions on this out of this one please). I don't know what else I can do. My son is ruling my house. Please someone give some advice, anything. Thanks.

Hi Katy!I know i have a son like this!!he is 3 years old.I fully agree with Catherine, sugar makes children hyper but you know there are some children with a looot of energy.
You can also try to find things to occupie him, give him small tasks.Another thing you can do is take him to a nurcery(day care for children)to burn his energies.
Another thing which i believe its critical is your health....try to get some help in periods of crisis,we all need someone,mother,sister,friend...
And by the way, screaming and swat on the bottom does not help..try to be as much calm you can.I know how you feel and i wish you will have a result.
Thanks.

does he eat food with sugars or drink juice with additives... my son was so hyper he drove me crazy but we changed his diet and he's a million times better. he has no sweets or sugary things, very week juice and we make sure his dinners have non of the bad e numbers or mono sodium glutanate. it really helped. he's like a different child

Sounds like you have your hands full! My best friend has a sone similar to yours in that he just doesn't stop until he is unconscious at the end of the day. The best thing she found, and even for my own son is to take them outside, go to a park, and let him run off some of that pent up energy...

some days you can say no until your blue in the face, but if he has all that energy it wont stop until he's used up his supply. Good luck
