Does anybody have advice on potty training my 2-1/2 year old son?

So my son is 2-1/2 and we have been working on potty training for a while now. It has been an ongoing battle. We have been working on a reward chart which seems to help but not all the time. I found that if he has either a pull up or underwear on he will go in those no matter how much I remind him to potty. I have recently discovered that if I leave underwear or a pull up off and just put shorts on him he will go to the potty! Does anybody have any suggestions as to how I can get him to wear his underwear without having an accident. He just takes them off if he has an accident.

Well for the past 3 days we have let him go commando and has only had 2 accidents!! He even took a nap the past 2 days with nothing on and didn't have an accident. He goes pee pee on the potty and poo poo on the potty. If he is playing outside he even stops to use the potty. Now I need to figure out what to do for school lol.

not ready, don't force it. Pull ups are a waste of money. They can actually hinder training. kids are not dumb, they know it is a diaper. Maybe he is a commando kid:)

..he clearly isn't ready

the hardest lesson I ever learned was that the more you push the more they resist ..and it becomes a power struggle

you cannot win that fight...because it is THEIR body not yours

back off..put him back in diapers and wait until he shows you signs of interest...and when he does ..and HE WILL...follow his lead but do not push
