My son was born w/ a lot of medical problems, but now is doing well-but still will NOT except eating. We are working w/ an OT, but really making no progress. He will nibble on a cracker every other day, but thats about it. Anyone out there with ANY advice would be great. Thank you.

i had a gt when i was 15 and i think it takes away your taste for food. i had no cravings and no hunger. i took a while but i got the hunger pang back. maybe decrease her feedings and try really yummy foods to get her taste buds to mature.

I let my 15 month old son brush his teeth in the bath tub when he is playing in the tub. he actually brushes his teeth. he has 12 teeth already. make sure you get a tooth brush for his age and get toothpaste that his like, he may not like one flavors over the other.

Have you tried a feeding specialist along with the OT? A former client of mine saw one along with an OT. He didn't digest food well and all he ate was Pedia Sure. Come to find out the muscles in his mouth were underdeveloped. So OT worked on that and client was given an enzyme of some sort to give him an appetite and help with the digestion. Hope this helps.

Try a different OC and see if this makes a difference. My son had issues with eating and we did that and it made a lot of difference. Keep in mind it may take him longer to eat, my son didn't really eat solids until he was aware other kids were doing it, he was 2. I knew another woman who had a daughter with the same issues and she didn't start eating solids until she was 3.
