We just introduced Dora the Explorer on TV. Our 26 month old is in heaven and so are we as it gives us a break from constantly entertaining here. It also allows me to focus a bit more on our 2 month old when nursing, changing, awake times, etc. I grew up in a very limited TV household and want to know people's opinions about setting limits with this educational (but it's still TV!) show. How much is too much?

My daughter will be 2 on Wednesday and she absolutely loves Dora. I agree that as long as she is active while watching the show it does not hurt. They need the stimulation that the educational shows give them.

i personally dont see anything wrong with a child watching tv as long as the child doesnt sit in one spot and just wanna constantly watch tv.. Children need to be active too.. My daughter who just turned 3 has been watching educational tv since she was very little.. and now she will sit still for about 10 or 15 minutes at a time but gets up and plays too.. As long as your child is active and not a couch potatoe i dont see there being anything as too much tv!
