We needed to find a way to make my son go to the toilete. He had no problem sitting there like a grown up, but missed a lot. We put alam clock for every half an hour for few days amd he went whenever he heard it. He kind of looked at it as a game. Now he is great with it and we have almost no accidents. have not found yet a way to deal with nights.

Well I have been trying for a while with my 2 1/2 year old she simply hasn't wanted to use the potty. So I just stopped putting diapers on her. She has a little potty and a basket of books and toys next to her potty-we have been ready potty books and I always take her with me when I go. So I knew she understood. So I took away the diaper-she runs to the potty now-I am soooo happy!

hey if she peed in the potty you are on the right track! that is awesome!! that is a HUGE step! just reward her for what she does right and she will get it! that is GREAT! cant believe she peed in it already! it took me forever of trying and getting him to sit on the potty before my son finally went! every child is different though. but way to go mom!!

so today i tried the treat jar reward trick.. she sat on her potty watched dora and within 20 mins she peed, she was so excited that she got a reward treat, then literally 5 mins later she peed on the floor but then again it was first thing in the am and she hadnt yet peed in diaper from overnite. now shes refusing to sit on the potty again... but mommy isnt giving up yet LOL... its alot of hard work, but patience will deff be the key to potty training.

I've learned with my 2 1/2 year old that actual big boy underwear is a better choice then pull-ups because it lets them feel the gross wetness... Yep there will be messes to clean but worth it.

This is what we are doing! We bought her a little potty a while back and we leave it downstairs since we are down here the most so she can see it. Everytime I go to the bathroom, I'll let her come in to see what I do. I take her to the potty when she wakes up and before she goes to bed and I just let her sit there for a while until she says all done. And inbetween those times, I am constantly asking if she needs to go to the potty. When she does go to the potty, we REWARD!! Do a silly dance, give her stickers, candy, yell with joy!! Make a big deal about it and make her feel really special that she succeeded. We have also bought "big girl panties" and on the weekends around the house we let her wear these. Everyone says that once they feel the pee pee or poop on them .. they wont like it and it might take a little while but just keep trying! I hope that all of this helps! I know that every child is different! Good luck!!

for us...the best thing was letting her be NAKED! kaylin was 21mo old when she showed signs that she was ready. so that next week we stayed home the whole week only went places if we had to! she stayed naked the whole time we were there except for nap time and bedtime, then i put pullups on her...of course we had a couple accidents but by the end of that week she was dry during the day and 2 months later she was dry day & night! she was easy some kids arent that way! i did do rewards too, she got stickers for peeing and 5 m&m's for pooping! she loved it! sometimes this method doesnt work as good with boys cuz they cant feel the pee running down thier legs...that what my daughter hated! GOOD LUCK!

BRIBERY!! who ever says that you shouldnt bribe your child has never been a parent. reward your child with their favorite snack or candy when they go potty like a big boy or girl and absolutely NO TREAT when they dont. we made a jar for the counter and i decorated it and wrote "potty treats" on it. and i filled them with gummy alphabets. not only are you rewarding them for their good behavior but we learned alphabet letters at the same time :) my son loves gummies and he would go potty just to get one. we gave him one snack for going pee and two snacks for #2. makes sense right? haha. well it worked wonders. and if he didnt and went in his pants instead, he would ask for a snack and we would say "no im sorry, you have to be a big boy for those snacks" and before you knew he it was potty trained :)
