Hi Carolyn,

I am on a diet pill called Duramine. It is under the strict supervision of my GP. I had 25kg to lose. I found with breast feeding I was eating way too much food. My BMI had gone over 30, and I was doing the weight watchers and exercising but nothing was coming off. Weight watchers wasn't helping because I had 29 points to comsume a day ( which is ALOT). So I went to speak to my Dr he prescribed Duramine ( an appetite supressant) for me and with a calorie controlled diet and exercise the weight is finally coming off. I have been on it for 1 month and I have lost 5kg. The best thing is that I don't feel like I am waiting for my next meal all the time and I am able to stop snacking and say no to unhealthy food. I guess it all comes down to your self control and determination, some of us need a little help to get us kick started. You do what is right for you, you'll find that your family Dr who knows you well will give you the right advice and help you. Good Luck :)

tae-bo...always worked for me. try it in combo with the 3-hr diet (it's online if you work better that way). very healthy, no crazy sacrifices, just teaches you great recipes and portion control and stuff like that. i was in my best shape ever when i did that combination. good luck...but avoid the pills...ugh..so bad for you.

Calories in vs. calories out is VERY important! You should not "diet" at all, but rather eat healthy portions and foods and make sure your working out enough to burn the fat from the foods you eat. Diets and diet pills are things I would REALLY stay away from! Wight watchers generally works because they emphasize the calorie counting. Also remember that it takes soo long to gain the weight it will NOT come off as quick as you would like! Building muscle increases your metabolism so that is good, but you also want to work on your cardio which is very important too! You want to make LIFE CHANGES to lose the weight otherwise when you stop your diet pill or diet or whatever you will gain all the weight plus some! So make life changes to eat healthy and build regular exercise in your daily routine to stay in good health! Good weight should not be your goal, but rather good HEALTH!

I have tried walk/ run it is a lot a work but it pays off. Also wii fit. Make sure you exercise for at least 60-90 minutes a day. Then 30 minutes to stay at your goal weight. You can try to break it down if you have a busy schedule. Weight watchers also helped me a lot. Try this website http://www.mypyramid.gov/mypyramid/index...

First of all, diet pills don't work. If there were a special pill that one could take in order to be skinny, we'd have no obese people in the world.

When I had my son, I gained a lot of weight. 70 lbs to be exact. And while 30 of that came off with the baby, I still had 40 lbs to lose. I joined weight watchers. I lost my 40 lbs in about 6 months, which is healthy considering losing more than 2 lbs a week is very UNHEALTHY. If you lose more than 2 lbs a week then you really should be under the supervision of a doctor or trainer.

And, as a side note, in order to properly lose the weight and keep it off, you need to burn the fat and build muscle. Walking is a great way to do this.
