My son who is Biracial (White/Black) is almost 2 and never had a hair cut, the past few weeks I have been thinking REALLY hard on cutting it. It's getting hot out and he HATES me combing it. We have very few products for his hair in my area and I have tryed them all with little luck. So how does everyone feel about cutting his hair. Also can a regular barber cut his hair????

Any help/opinions/ ideas would be great.

well i am a hairdresser and yes i would cut it. because it is more problems on you keeping his hair long, the longer it gets the harder it's going to be to take care of it. I do know that if you take him to a regular hair salon all the hairdressers are going to run into the back room because in beauty school they taught very little on ethnic hair. In my opinion i would take him to a salon that they have experience with that type of hair. or there is option 2 if you don't have a salon like that in your area, take him to a regular salon and i would do a #2 or #3 on sides and back and do a 5 on top, this would leave it manageable and you can buy just regular hair gel and scrunch it into the hair. but make sure that they out line the haircut lol if you tell them that they will know what ur saying lol. but if you are a picky mom like i am with my sons hair i would take him to a salon that "know "what they are doing i hope everything works out.

Mandy,
Thank you SO much, I am going to try and get a place where they know what they are doing, if not that is VERY helpful information.
Thank you :)
