Ok, this may sound gross but it's part of every mom's life. My 2 1/2 year old just went #2 in the potty for the first time. I've been changing her dirty diapers my whole life, and it's never bothered me. But, for some reason, cleaning out her toddler potty made me sick. Has anyone ever had this problem before?

*p.s.: she is now enjoying a popsicle as a reward for this, I am so proud of her!!!!

I Never used a child potty before.. I was grossed out just chancing my sons diapers.. When I did start potty training I just put one of those kid seats ontop of the toilet, now hes fully potty trained and does it all by himself.. I cant wait to start potty training my 10 month old just so I can get out of changing his nasty diapers..lol

It is gross, but part of our job as mommas, now, I did change to the toilet potty seat, and avoided all that messy clean up of the potty, my son now goes all by himself, and barely ever used the potty. try what ever is easier for you, she'll go where you put her., if she really has to go.

I had to catch a turd the other day. The boy squatted in the yard and grunted...I snatched him up and RAN for the house. I had one hand under his butt..instinctively...stupidly...who knows? But half way up the stairs...I had a handfull. Still warm.
I hate to be the bearer of bad news...but it can get worse.

Nope, because especially for the reason you just described, I have never used one with either of my children. I don't want to clean it out lol. SO, I have a padded Disney Princess potty seat for my toilet from the time my first born was being potty trained. This actually helps me more than saving me the clean up lol other than wiping the child when they're done since I also have a potty seat in the car so she can sit on a regular toilet comfortably on the go.

LOL!! I'm thinking of starting. I made my fiance pick me up a case of beer last night. My 2 kids, 2 1/2 and 4 months were so clung to me and I swear I couldn not get 5 minutes without someone crying or yelling MOMMY!!!!.

Well Nichole, let's hope that the rubbers worked, this momma is tired and would really be pushing the sanity level with another munchkin running around. Lol.

Laura, I thought about looking for a stepstool and a seat for the regular toilet. We have one of the toilets that has a really long oval seat and sometimes I feel like it's going to suck me down into it so I'm half afraid to let my 2 year old sit on it before I have to plunge her out. :/

My son will be at this stage soon. I'm pretty sure I'd be totally grossed out too. I don't know what is different about a potty and a diaper, but I totally know what you mean! And I haven't even done that yet! I plan on just getting one of those baby toilet seats for the real toilet so I don't have to deal with the mess! haha
